I’m on a learning curve with marketing my award winning book Miracle on Snowbird Lake. Just found out about your book through someone who reviewed yours and mine at nearly the same time. Your blog looks incredible! I will download the book soon. All the reviews I’ve read has me super curious.
I hope to gain some insight on how to get more attention and get some magazine interviews. I tried to go to my Christian books store in town, and she wouldn’t even let me give the book away.
Blessing always.
Stan
Thanks, Stan! I’ll have to check out your book, too! Marketing is like taking a blind shot in the woods with a BB gun and hoping you come back with a deer head for above your mantle. Sigh. (For marketing, not the deer head. I’m actually pro-deer. ha ha!)
I believe my marketing comrade at my publisher lined up some of the magazine articles, and others have been through people who were asked to review or edit the book, and who also wore an interviewer’s hat. In that regard, I simply got lucky.
I take multiple shots in the dark, about a few times a week, if you’re asking about my strategy, trolling blogs and, well, begging. I’m sure there’s a better way, but for now it’s all I know to do.
Best of luck!!
Thanks Heather. Would love to stay connected. I think it is interesting that we touched on the same subject and had books come out about the same time as new authors. Blessings full speed ahead.
Hi Heather, hope your are doing well and writing until your shoes fall off. As you know I wrote in the same genre and our books came out at nearly the same time, so I often check with curiosity to see how your book is doing. I recently acquired and agent who submitted a proposal to Kregle that’s in the historical category.
Almost like Nehemiah, I’m holding a pen (sword) in one hand and praying.
Stan
Hey Stan! All is well. Busy, but do-able. How is your book coming along?
Also, keeping my fingers crossed for you with Kregel!
I’m the second most unknown author next to the tomb of the Unknown Author. But now I have the respected and admired Leslie Stobbe in my corner.
I looked for your book on Nook. Why haven’t they listed it on the site? let’s do some detective work.
Kregel is actually responsible for that and they let other sales avenues play out before they pay out for Nook. > Date: Fri, 10 May 2013 23:57:04 +0000 > To: heatherijames@msn.com >
